Kits y ventiladores de refrigeración para Acura RSX

Fans and Kits for Acura RSX

The radiator cooling fan is a critical component of any engine because it regulates operating temperature and ensures the engine does not overheat. When the cooling fan fails to run or turn on and off at the proper times, it can cause your Acura RSX to overheat, which could damage its engine. With a wide selection of fans and kits, you can find what you need to get your fan back up and running again.

What are some common problems that happen with cooling fans?
  • The fan blades can become bent or broken, preventing it from moving enough air.
  • The fan’s thermostat can fail, causing the fan to stop turning on, or turn on and off intermittently.
  • A broken fan clutch may fail to engage and spin the fan when it turns on.
  • The cooling fan’s fuse may burn out, preventing it from turning on.
  • The wiring to the cooling fan may be failing.
What are the signs of a bad cooling fan?
  • Your Acura RSX develops an overheating problem.
  • When the cooling fan is malfunctioning, it may cause your check engine light to turn on.
  • A failing cooling fan can also affect the performance of your air conditioner.
Is the problem the cooling fan or its connecting wires?

If the Acuras voltmeter shows something between zero and 12 volts, the problem is probably loose or faulty wiring.

  1. Start your Acura RSX and let it run until the cooling fan turns on, or when should turn on if it’s not working at all.
  2. Using a voltmeter, connect one terminal to the fan’s electrical connection and the other terminal to a ground.
  3. If the voltmeter shows 12 volts of current, the problem is not the wiring.
  4. If the voltmeter shows zero volts of current, the problem is a broken wire or a blown fuse.
  5. If the voltmeter shows something between zero and 12 volts, the problem is probably loose or faulty wiring.
What are some precautions when installing a new cooling fan?
  • Make sure the Acuras engine is turned off and the battery is disconnected before removing the faulty fan and installing a new one.
  • When hooking up the cooling fan’s wiring in your RSX, make sure the polarity is not reversed, as this may cause the fan to run in the opposite direction and defeat its purpose.
  • Some car owners remove the shroud that comes with cooling fans, but this is not recommended for safety reasons and because cooling fans are specifically designed to move the air that they do with the shroud in place.
